Overview

This full-time position reports directly to the Head Golf Course Superintendent and is responsible for managing the crew, administrative duties, training, and applications of pesticides and fertilizers. The role supports a positive experience for members and guests while contributing to daily golf course operations.

Experience Required

• 3+ years of turf grass management experience preferred
• Supervisory experience required
• A four-year college degree preferred, but not required
• GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
• Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
• Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervise and train foreman, irrigation technician, and other employees in the maintenance department
• Prepare weekly schedules for foreman, irrigation staff, and other maintenance employees
• Monitor inventory of maintenance equipment, equipment usage, preventative maintenance schedules, and safety training
• Work closely with the Superintendent in managing the annual budget and maintenance recordkeeping
• Assist in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies and daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization and irrigation schedules
• Calibrate and operate pesticide sprayers
• Implement all Troon Human Resources guidelines
• Assist the Superintendent in informing members about present and future maintenance activities
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
