Description
Brookside Country Club located in Stockton, California is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent.- This department head position is responsible and entrusted for the successful operation and management of the Golf Course Maintenance Department, tennis and pool complex, parking lots and overseeing the Clubhouse Grounds Maintenance. The Golf Course Superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operation and management of the golf course which includes but not limited to the following:
- The includes providing agronomic direction to maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times following company standards for the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees, and other applicable plant materials.
- Programs for turf/grass, material and chemical maintenance and asset management are critical to the success of this role.
- Prepares an annual budget and achieves these financial goals throughout the year, through proper forecasting, expense controls and labor management.
- Responsible for hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
- Prepares a weekly golf course maintenance schedule and oversees and approves all purchase orders, invoices, schedules, and completes payroll that is produced biweekly to the Accounting Manager.
- Acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the golf course. The Superintendent is responsible for inventory control and oversees the equipment maintenance.
- Attends weekly meetings, prepares monthly letters for the membership and communicates regularly with the Department Managers.
- Attends and interacts with the Golf Committee and all Golf Associations
The Superintendent works closely with the General Manager on capital improvement projects, as well as interaction with the Head Golf Professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played by scheduling maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency is essential.
Job Requirements
- 3 - 5 years in Golf Course Maintenance Management
- Pesticide Applicators License required
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state and federal laws
- QAL License or QAC Certificate MANDATORY
- Experience with Rainbird Nymbus 2 irrigation system
- SBM 1230 Controllers and Par 24 Controllers
- Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and Guests
- Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred but not mandatory
