The team at Hampton Roads Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent for our Honeybee Golf Club course. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for consistently providing exceptional golfing conditions and the management of golf course maintenance and landscape operations. The Superintendent is expected to lead the golf course maintenance team and to possess strong agronomic, business, interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance programs to ensure optimal grounds heath
• Oversee the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, range, and landscaping
• Establish and monitor agronomic standards to maintain consistent course quality
• Oversee operation repairs and optimization of the irrigation system
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the maintenance team
• Provide ongoing staff development, professionalism, and pride in course conditions
• Work with our team mechanic to ensure the maintenance and repair of all turf equipment
• Manage storage facilities, chemical storage, wash pads, and maintenance buildings
• Maintain detailed records on agronomy, environmental compliance, equipment and staff
• Communicate professionally with guests and leadership regarding course conditions and maintenance schedules
• Collaborate with golf operations staff to support tournaments and daily play

Qualifications:

• Must have strong expertise in Golf Course Management with at least 2 years' experience
• Must be able to manage the maintenance team with professionalism
• Strong equipment history is useful
• A solid background in irrigation operation and repair
• Someone with passion to maintain the grounds and the course
• Valid state pesticide license required
