MCLA is currently seeking a Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer with 4–6+ years of professional experience in residential landscape design. The ideal candidate will have a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and experience working on a wide range of high-end residential projects from concept through implementation. Our studio is located in Louisville, Kentucky—a vibrant and charming city known for its bourbon heritage, horse racing, and warm Southern hospitality. Louisville offers a diverse mix of historic and modern neighborhoods, an exceptional park system, college and professional sports, and a nationally recognized culinary scene. Centrally located, the city provides easy access to Nashville, Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, and many other destinations.

Requirements
- Ability to develop creative, buildable design solutions, producing work from concept through detailed construction and design development packages.
- Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, materials, detailing, and sequencing.
- Experience preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project budgets, with an understanding of real-world pricing and constructability.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience providing construction oversight and field coordination is preferred, including site visits and responding to field conditions (RFI-style problem solving).
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain design intent, costs, and construction processes while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Strong knowledge of regional plant materials, installation practices, and long-term maintenance considerations.
- Proficiency in producing clear, accurate construction documents, details, and graphic deliverables.
- Highly organized, with a commitment to systematic documentation, schedules, and project tracking.
- Ability to manage multiple active projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a hands-on design-build setting where field conditions and priorities can evolve.
