The Designer position includes the preparation of schematic plans and construction documents to achieve detailed, complete and fully coordinated production drawings and presentation packages for a variety of project scales and types within the Central Coast region. Designers will provide support to all project team members; attend and participate in meetings; organize site visits and conduct site analysis; and collaborate with project team to produce beautiful graphics and compelling design solutions. Ideal candidates are creative, self-motivated, curious and eager to learn; and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 yr. minimum post-graduate professional experience at a landscape architecture office.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in landscape architecture, architecture or related design fields.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing landscape architectural drawings with graphic clarity using office standards: concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Ability to prepare quick hand-drawn sketches that clearly convey design ideas.
- Experience preparing digital graphics using Adobe InDesign as well as knowledge of graphic design conventions and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and clear, concise verbal articulation and writing.
- Strong creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and organization / effective time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D Modeling (SketchUp, Lumion, Revit or Rhino) software.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of local CA plants, including native and climate-adapted species.
- Strong design intuition and creative talent.
