Description

The City of New Baltimore Wastewater Treatment Plant is seeking to fill a position as Plant Operator. The qualified candidate will have a State of Michigan EGLE Sewage Treatment Works Operators class D, C or B certification license. This is a professional career position. The applicant should also possess the following education & skills associated with but not limited to wastewater treatment plant operations.

Requirements

Education: Qualified candidate will be a High School Graduate. Some college or equivalent preferred.

Preferential Job-Related Skills:

Strong work ethic, punctual, & dedicated.

Good communication skills written & verbal.

       Background in mechanics, science & mathematics.

       Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical.

       Computer knowledge, Microsoft Office.

       Skilled in the operation and maintenance of small to medium duty equipment.

       Knowledgeable of safety procedures & practices.

Required:

       Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.

       Work in a confined space environment as needed.

       Good physical health ability to lift 50 pounds.

       Willingness and ability to respond in a timely manner to emergency situations (Required). These emergencies can and do happen at all hour’s day or night.

       Work scheduled overtime (approximately 4 hours per week every 4th week and City of New Baltimore Recognized Holiday’s every 4th of 15 Holidays). Emergency Overtime as needed.

       Experienced in operation & maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System including SCADA.

       Wastewater treatment laboratory operation and procedure.
