Your Role & Impact
As Water Resources Project Engineer, you will lead and shape significant water and wastewater engineering projects that serve our community’s infrastructure and future growth. You’ll supervise planning and design efforts, coordinate cross-functional teams, and serve as a technical resource for solutions that keep our systems strong and rates affordable.
Your work will help PWC stay true to its mission: a safe, highly productive utility that invests in our team, our facilities and infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Lead the planning, design, review and implementation of water and sanitary sewer projects (extensions, replacements, treatment-related work)
Supervise or coordinate multi-discipline teams (internal staff, external consultants/contractors) to deliver on time and on budget
Perform engineering studies: surveys, investigations, structural analyses, utilities placement, and system modelling
Review drawings, specifications, and construction plans; determine materials/work required; troubleshoot design or field issues
Interface with stakeholders: internal departments, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public
Ensure accuracy of maps, GIS data, and as-built documentation for utility systems
Respond to on-call or extended-hour needs when required to support reliability efforts
Promote safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness throughout your work

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
At minimum, 2 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience in a utility environment (design, review, fieldwork)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification at hire; ability to become licensed (PE) as soon as eligible
Valid driver’s license
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient with engineering software, GIS/ mapping tools
Excellent communication—able to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders
