Description

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent supports the Superintendent in the day-to-day preparation, maintenance, and presentation of the golf course to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong practical skills, leadership ability, and a solid understanding of irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to deliver consistent playing conditions, contribute to staff training, and ensure safe, efficient operations across all areas of the course.

Essential Duties:

• Assist in planning and executing all daily maintenance tasks.

• Lead and supervise teams to ensure standards, safety, and task completion are met.

• Oversee and participate in irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.

• Monitor turf health, moisture levels, and assist with irrigation scheduling.

• Support the management of fertilizer and chemical applications as directed.

• Monitor and report pest, disease, and weed issues to the Superintendent.

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.

Experience:

• Strong practical background in golf course maintenance or sports turf management.

• Competent in operating all major turf maintenance machinery.

• Experience supervising teams or leading daily task assignments.

• Basic understanding of turfgrass health, including moisture, mowing, and stress management.

• Solid knowledge of irrigation systems.

• Ability to identify and troubleshoot irrigation faults and leaks.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends/early mornings.

• Physically fit and capable of outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Licenses:

• Valid Driver's License
