Overview

This new position will assist with the grow-in and opening of a new Par 3 golf course beginning construction in early summer 2026. The role supports golf course maintenance and construction operations within a hospitality-focused club environment.

Experience Required

• A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
• Two years of related experience required.
• Valid Florida driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Florida pesticide applicator's license required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various climates.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work with the Superintendent to ensure that the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed.
• Supervise and assist maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervise the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
• Ensure maintenance equipment is operating properly and report issues to Equipment Managers.
• Assist in procurement of supplies and materials and ensure costs remain within budgetary limitations.
• Maintain records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assist with preparation of required reports.
• Follow sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible.
• Reconcile and provide timely coding of invoices, payroll, and other required documents.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations.
• Ensure associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within regulations; address environmental concerns directly.
• Manage department members including Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
• Provide orientation and training to new associates and develop ongoing training programs.
• Monitor business volume forecast and plan accordingly for manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
