Description
OverviewThis is a new position to assist with the grow-in and opening of a new Par 3 golf course starting construction in early summer 2026. The role is suited for a driven individual eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience required
- Valid Florida driver's license and satisfactory driving record meeting insurability standards required
- Florida pesticide applicator's license required
- Ability to work outdoors in various climates
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with the Superintendent to ensure the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed
- Supervise and assist maintenance staff in daily duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
- Supervise planting and cultural practices involved in growing turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants
- Ensure maintenance equipment is operating properly and report issues to Equipment Managers
- Assist in procurement of supplies and materials and ensure costs remain within budgetary limitations
- Maintain records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assist with preparation of required reports
- Follow sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible
- Reconcile and provide timely coding of invoices, payroll, and other required documents
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations
- Ensure associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform tasks safely and within regulations; address environmental concerns directly
- Manage department members including Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician
- Provide effective orientation and training to new associates and develop ongoing training programs
- Monitor business volume forecast and plan for manpower, productivity, costs, and expenses
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
